Recognizing Water Expertise
In recognition of his service to the water industry, Mike Brown, PE, received the 2026 George Warren Fuller Award at the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE26).
“Mike’s career has been defined by technical excellence, collaborative leadership, and a deep commitment to strengthening communities and improving water infrastructure,” said Jamie Shambaugh, PE, GFT’s Water Business Line director. “This recognition reflects the meaningful, lasting impact Mike continues to make across the water sector for our clients and the people they serve.”
Brown’s Three Decades of Excellence
Brown is a water hydraulics expert and program manager with over 30 years of experience leading planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure. He has delivered hundreds of successful projects for utilities across the globe, including major supply, distribution, conveyance, and treatment facilities.

What Is the Fuller Award?
The George Warren Fuller Award is given annually to AWWA members who embody the engineering skills and constructive leadership of Fuller, who advanced water filtration technologies at the turn of the 20th century. Each awardee automatically becomes a member of the George Warren Fuller Award Society of AWWA.
AWWA, with 50,000 members from across the globe, is the largest nonprofit, scientific, and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, the world’s most vital resource.
