GFT Appoints Pappas to Spearhead MidAtlantic Sales Strategy
GFT is excited to welcome 20-year industry veteran Helen Pappas, CHMM, ENV SP, as vice president and regional sales leader for the MidAtlantic U.S.
“With Helen at the helm of the MidAtlantic sales strategy across transportation, water, power, buildings, and construction, our firm is well-positioned to help public and private sector clients achieve their strategic goals and make our communities stronger,” said Chief Growth Officer Joseph Deery, PE. “Helen’s optimism and creative problem-solving have delivered outstanding, resilient results, and she will elevate GFT’s full-service capabilities in the MidAtlantic region.”
Pappas most recently served as director of environmental services for BEM Systems, Inc., an Aventia company. A “boomerang employee,” Pappas’s first 15+ years with GFT were defined by her leadership in developing innovative, resilient environmental remediation solutions, navigating complex regulatory landscapes, creating solutions that align with client needs and objectives, and leading diverse and engaged teams.
“This is a pivotal time for our industry – we’re being challenged to think beyond siloed technical solutions and take a 360-degree approach to client and community needs. I look forward to leveraging my national expertise to drive growth, ensuring our clients receive resilient and impactful solutions. I’m excited to be back home with GFT, a premier AEC firm in the MidAtlantic and across North America, because I know firsthand our collaborative culture, great benefits, and shared team-first mentality,” said Pappas.
A trailblazer in the infrastructure industry, she is an active member of the Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA), serving as chair of the Emerging Issues and Trends Committee and facilitating the organization’s Crystal Ball Workshop. A recognized thought leader and regular speaker at conferences, Pappas has been published in Geostrata magazine and is a member of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) and the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI).
Pappas is the inaugural winner of GFT’s Innovation Challenge, a member of the inaugural Connected Women at GFT steering committee, and a dedicated mentor who has guided dozens of early career professionals and women in engineering and environmental sciences.
