GFT Advances National Standing as a Leader in Architecture & Integrated Design
GFT Named a Top 20 Engineering/Architecture Firm
Building Design+Construction has ranked GFT #17 on its 2025 Giants Report in the Engineering/Architecture Firms category. The annual list profiles the largest and most influential AEC firms in the U.S., ranking them by revenue across 25 building sectors and six design disciplines.
Growth Driven by Unified Expertise
This recognition reflects the growing strength of GFT’s Buildings & Places business group and the firm’s continued expansion across the built environment. GFT’s rebrand also unites expertise from recent acquisitions, including Muller2, BCE Engineers, Whitney Bailey Cox & Magnani, and L. Robert Kimball. Together, these teams are creating connected communities nationwide through integrated design and engineering solutions.
Delivering Design That Makes a Difference
GFT supports projects across aviation, civic, education, federal, food and beverage, justice, life science, transit, and industrial markets. Its core capabilities include architecture, civil/site, electrical, mechanical, structural, and vertical transportation engineering — each bringing a holistic approach that combines technical precision with creativity.
“Our position among the nation’s top engineering and architecture firms underscores the depth of talent and collaboration across our Buildings & Places group,” said Joe Tulumello, AIA, senior vice president and director of Buildings & Places. “Bringing diverse expertise together under one brand, we deliver spaces that connect people, strengthen communities, and inspire progress.”
This distinction adds to a growing list of industry honors. Engineering News-Record recently ranked GFT #10 among Pure Designers, and the firm’s projects continue to earn national recognition:
- The O’Hare International Airport Terminal 5 Expansion, winner of Architizer’s 2025 A+ Awards Popular Choice in the Transportation Infrastructure category.
- The 147th Street/Sibley Boulevard Metra Station, a 2025 Design Excellence Award finalist from American Institute of Architects Chicago.
- The Pennsylvania Army National Guard Training Support Center, recipient of the Society of American Military Engineers Design Awards Grand Award in the Industrial/Operations category.
