GFT Names Andrew Shufelt as Data Centers Market Sector Leader
GFT is excited to welcome Andrew “Drew” Shufelt as market sector leader for the firm’s Data Centers Practice, supporting the continued growth of its mission-critical and data center operations, while driving growth across the full data center lifecycle. In his new role, Shufelt will work across business groups to strengthen client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and position the firm as a trusted partner in this rapidly evolving market.
“I’m excited to join GFT at a time when the demand for data center infrastructure is accelerating,” said Shufelt. “The firm has a strong foundation in power and infrastructure, and I look forward to helping expand the practice while delivering high-quality solutions for clients.”
Shufelt brings two decades of experience in business development and strategic growth across the power delivery market, with depth across the data center lifecycle. His background includes extensive work supporting large-scale infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on energy-intensive facilities such as data centers.
“Drew’s track record speaks for itself,” said Joseph Deery, PE, chief growth officer. “He understands how to build meaningful client relationships and translate market demand into real opportunities. As we expand our presence in the data center sector, his experience and industry connections will play a key role in helping us scale our capabilities and deliver value to clients.”
Shufelt has held leadership roles at national power engineering and infrastructure firms, where he led business development and growth initiatives across utility, renewable, industrial, and commercial markets. He has built and managed sales pipelines exceeding $100 million and has supported regional portfolios generating more than $30 million annually. He has also negotiated long-term service agreements and partnered with clients to advance complex infrastructure programs. His experience spans generation, transmission, distribution, substations, supervisory control and data acquisition, and grid interconnection projects.
The data center market represents a major growth opportunity for GFT, driven by increasing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure. The firm’s integrated approach combines expertise in power delivery, civil engineering, and program management to support clients through every phase of development.
