The latest issue of Roads & Bridges magazine features GFT’s specialized inspection of the Fred Hartman Bridge — Texas’ longest cable-stayed structure. In collaboration with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), our 30-person team employed advanced rope access, drones, and nondestructive testing to assess hard-to-reach components, helping ensure long-term safety and reliability for one of the state’s most vital transportation links.

Spanning the Houston Ship Channel, the Fred Hartman Bridge connects the Baytown and La Porte communities and carries more than 90,000 vehicles daily — including 12,000 trucks — along eight lanes of State Highway 146. It plays a pivotal role in the regional and state economies, supporting freight movement and commerce at Port Houston.
