The latest issue of Roads & Bridges magazine features GFT’s work on the Interstate 5 Improvement Project in Orange County, California.
In “Rebuilding Interstate 5 in California,” GFT’s Ayman Salama and Joseph Sawtelle discuss how a staging-driven design approach allowed major highway improvements to move forward while maintaining traffic operations on one of Southern California’s busiest transportation corridors.
The article highlights the reconstruction of the La Paz Road interchange, bridge replacements, rail coordination, utility relocations, and roadway widening that expanded capacity while keeping the corridor operational throughout construction.
