The KCT Railway Highline Lift Bridge Rehabilitation project in Kansas City, Kansas, has been ranked No. 7 on Roads & Bridges’ Top 10 Bridge awards list for 2025. This prestigious recognition highlights the most innovative and impactful bridge projects of the year, celebrating achievements that strengthen infrastructure and enhance community connectivity.

The $8.3 million rehabilitation project modernized the 112-year-old railroad lift bridge by restoring full lifting capacity, integrating custom-engineered strand jacks, and retrofitting the steel towers to extend the structure’s service life. As a critical link in Kansas City’s rail network, the bridge connects major rail yards and will continue to support freight movement throughout the region for years to come.
