Overcoming Space Constraints, Minimizing Disruptions, and Using Self-propelled Modular Transporters During the Illinois Tollway Expansion
Roads & Bridges recently highlighted the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway Bridge project in an article co-authored by D. David Moses, PE, and Dan Filice, PE, SE. This critical infrastructure project for Chicago’s rail network involved modifications to accommodate the Tri-State Tollway expansion. The bridge supports Metra and Amtrak passenger trains, as well as freight trains, that traverse the busy tollway.
