North Carolina’s Complete 540 project, recently featured in the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Scanner, is revolutionizing mobility and connectivity in southeastern Wake County. The article reveals how this high-profile project sets a new standard in community-focused infrastructure.

Our company was the lead design firm for a 4.6-mile segment of this six-lane, limited-access highway from the N.C. 55 Bypass to east of Pierce Olive Road. This completes one of the remaining portions of the N.C. 540 Outer Loop and showcases innovative design, including a diverging diamond interchange, numerous structures, extensive noise barriers, and striking aesthetic enhancements.

Recognized for engineering excellence, the project earned the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina’s 2025 Grand Award for Engineering Excellence and ranked No. 1 on Roads & Bridges’ Top 10 Roads Projects of 2024.
