In The News: Roads & Bridges Magazine Showcases Turner Diagonal Interchange and Loxahatchee Bridge
The latest issue of Roads and Bridges magazine features two GFT projects that exemplify innovation, resilience, and collaboration.
The Turner Diagonal Interchange in Kansas City was delivered in partnership with the Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA), the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, and NorthPoint Development. Together, the team redesigned the interchange to enhance freight mobility and drive economic growth. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the project successfully opened 300 acres for new development.
The Loxahatchee River Movable Bridge in Florida, completed for Brightline and the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC Railway), transformed a single-track bottleneck into a modern, dual-track connection. The rehabilitation showcases stakeholder collaboration and forward-thinking engineering, enabling sustainable mobility and expanding the region’s rail service.
