Abe Khademi Joins GFT
GFT is proud to announce the appointment of Abe Khademi, PEng, as the firm’s first director of water in Canada.
“Abe’s proven expertise and leadership perfectly position GFT to deliver our trademark consistency and excellence deeper into Canada’s water sector,” said Daven Oswalt, GFT’s Water Division President. “Our clients know us for reliability and collaboration on more than 600 projects across multiple provinces in Canada, and we’re excited to extend that same level of trust and distinction to water infrastructure.”

Khademi brings a nearly 30-year track record of executive and operational leadership in consulting engineering, having successfully guided multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex water, wastewater, and flood management projects across Canada. He has overseen major water infrastructure initiatives to advance both public and private growth and resiliency mandates.

Under Khademi’s leadership, GFT is expanding its Canadian team and enhancing its Canadian water-focused services to include pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, dams and reservoirs, and more. This strategic expansion reflects the firm’s commitment to addressing the significant and growing demand for water infrastructure projects that sustain the health and prosperity of Canadian communities and industries.
“GFT’s values of prioritizing employees’ growth, establishing long-term partnerships with clients, and pursuing sustainable solutions directly align with my own professional principles and allow us to excel at both routine and once-in-a-generation projects,” said Khademi. “I’m excited by the opportunity to build and support a team that shares these priorities, and to deliver the consistent, exceptional work that supports the vitality and resilience of communities across Canada.”
