Pensacola, FL
American Magic High Performance Center
Client: City of Pensacola
Our Role: Architecture

The City of Pensacola sought to transform a partially constructed, dormant Warehouse #10 at the Port of Pensacola into a next-generation training and innovation hub for American Magic, the U.S. Challenger for the America’s Cup yacht racing team. While the existing structure offered a strong footprint, it lacked the infrastructure, environmental controls, and spatial organization required to support the team’s highly specialized maritime engineering, athlete training, and vessel manufacturing operations. The project also needed to align with the Port’s operational realities while advancing the City’s broader vision for waterfront activation and long-term economic growth.
GFT reimagined the warehouse as a fully integrated, high-performance maritime facility. The design prioritized transparency, flow, and flexibility — delivering a world-class space for high-performance sailing operations. A high-bay manufacturing hall anchors the facility, surrounded by technical workspaces, team areas, and public-facing enhancements that invite community engagement. The transformation supports not just elite performance but also economic revitalization, advancing Pensacola’s standing as a hub for innovation in maritime sport and industry.
