Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC
Camp Lejeune Fire Station 7
Client: NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic
Our Role: Designer of Record

Following the devastation of Hurricane Florence, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune faced the critical need to rebuild and enhance its emergency response infrastructure. As part of the $1.7 billion Hurricane Florence Recovery Program, the base required a modern, resilient fire station capable of providing essential emergency services while withstanding extreme weather events.
Fire Station 7, located at Courthouse Bay, needed to not only replace damaged infrastructure but also improve operational efficiency, support emergency personnel, and enhance the safety and functionality of the facility. The challenge was to design a station that met these needs while integrating essential support services and futureproofing for long-term resilience.
Our team served as the Designer of Record for four of seven buildings within Hurricane Florence Recovery Package 5, including Fire Station 7—the first facility completed in this package. This 15,500-square-foot facility was designed to optimize emergency response operations while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and durability.
The station features six apparatus bays, sleeping and living quarters for emergency service personnel, a full kitchen and dining area, a fitness center, office and meeting spaces, dispatch operations, and support areas such as on-site laundry and a vehicle maintenance zone. Additionally, the facility includes an emergency storm shelter to ensure personnel’s safety during extreme weather events.
