HAM-50-2910 Bridge Rehabilitation Design
Client: Ohio Department of Transportation
Our Role: Design

The HAM-50-2910 bridge rehabilitation addressed aging infrastructure along a heavily traveled regional corridor where maintaining reliability and mobility was essential for surrounding communities and daily travel. With deterioration threatening long-term serviceability, the project focused on preserving a critical transportation link while minimizing disruption to motorists and adjacent infrastructure. GFT supported the client by delivering a thoughtful rehabilitation approach that balanced safety, constructability, and long-term performance, helping extend the bridge’s useful life and improve the overall user experience while maintaining continuous operations throughout construction.
Key Features
- Rehabilitated a heavily traveled bridge along the US-50 corridor serving approximately 33,000 vehicles per day.
- Staged construction approach maintained continuous traffic and minimized disruption to the traveling public.
- Improved structural durability and long-term performance through targeted rehabilitation.
- Coordinated design supporting construction over active rail lines and constrained site conditions.
Outcomes
- Extended service life by 25–30 years, deferring capital replacement costs.
- Kept 33,000 daily vehicles moving without major disruptions during construction.
- Enhanced structural performance and ride quality to improve long-term safety.
- Executed a constructible, cost-effective solution within active rail and constrained site conditions.
