Vaughan’s Colossus Drive Extension
Client: City of Vaughan
Our Role: Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA), Detailed Design, and Contract Administration

The City of Vaughan initiated the Colossus Drive Extension to address a critical gap in the transportation network created by Highway 400, which separates the rapidly growing Weston 7 area from the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. By improving connections between these strategic growth areas, the project is intended to support planned development, enhance mobility and accessibility for all road users, strengthen municipal servicing, and help create a more connected and integrated urban community.
GFT is supporting the city through an integrated planning, design, and implementation process that considers the project’s complex transportation, property, environmental, infrastructure, and approval requirements. Through coordinated multidisciplinary expertise, stakeholder engagement, and informed decision-making, GFT is helping the city advance a practical, context-sensitive solution that supports long-term regional growth objectives and vision for connected, sustainable development.
